Size names are not standard. One shop's "large" is another's "medium", so work from the inches, not the name. A box that is too big lets the pizza slide and the toppings pile up on one side. Too small and the cheese sticks to the lid.

Which pizza box sizes should a pizzeria stock?
- Takeaway with a standard menu: 10, 12 and 14 inch, plus 7 inch for sides and kids' pizzas.
- Neapolitan or wood-fired: often a single size, 12 inch, for one pizza per person.
- Chipper or café adding pizza: 9 or 10 inch to start.
- Catering and parties: 16 inch.
Watch which sizes you order most over a month, then adjust. Boxes take up a lot of floor space, and there is no point storing a size that barely sells.
Should I use kraft or printed pizza boxes?

Both are corrugated, which matters: the fluted middle layer insulates the pizza and lets steam escape through the corners, so the base does not go soggy on the way home.

Can pizza boxes be recycled?
A clean pizza box is card and can go in the recycling. A greasy, food-soiled box usually cannot, but MyWaste lists food-soiled pizza boxes as fine for the brown bin.
