SumUp Paper Rolls: Which Roll Fits Your SumUp?
The DiscountTillRolls.ie TeamSumUp uses three different roll sizes, and some SumUp readers do not print at all. The SumUp Terminal takes a standard 57x40mm roll. The SumUp 3G takes a smaller 57x30mm roll. The SumUp Solo printer takes a coreless 57x25mm roll. The SumUp Air has no printer, so receipts go out by email or text instead.

What roll does the SumUp Solo printer take?
The SumUp Solo printer takes a coreless 57x25mm roll. Coreless means there is no cardboard tube in the middle, which lets a useful amount of paper fit in a small space. Do not try a standard cored roll here, it will not fit.

What roll does the SumUp 3G take?
The SumUp 3G takes a 57x30mm roll. It is smaller than the standard 57x40mm card roll, so it runs out sooner. If you trade at markets or events with a 3G, bring a handful of spare rolls in your float bag.

Does the SumUp Air need paper rolls?
No. The SumUp Air has no built-in printer. It connects to the SumUp app on your phone, and receipts are sent to customers by email or text.
That works well for plenty of businesses. It is worth adding a printed receipt option if:
- Customers ask for paper receipts for expenses, such as tradespeople, B2B customers or anyone claiming costs back.
- You sell at markets or events where people want proof of purchase straight away.
- You need a paper trail at cash-up that does not depend on a phone.
How many SumUp rolls should I keep in stock?
A 57x40mm roll holds roughly 16 metres of paper, around 100 receipts. The 57x30mm and 57x25mm rolls hold less, so expect fewer. A box of 50 lasts most market traders and small cafés a good while, and the rolls keep well if stored somewhere cool and dry.
