Quick Decision Summary

Size	57 × 40mm — standard PDQ size, same fit as BPA-free 57x40mm
Coating	Phenol-free and BPA-free — all phenol compounds removed
Best for	Pharmacy, healthcare, and any environment where phenol-free is specified
Standard retail / hospitality	BPA-free 57x40mm is the right choice

BPA-Free vs Phenol-Free — What’s the Difference?

BPA-free thermal paper removes bisphenol-A from the coating — the EU standard for most retail and hospitality environments. Phenol-free removes all phenol compounds from the thermal coating, not just BPA. Some pharmacies, healthcare providers and other buyers specify phenol-free paper, particularly where staff handle receipts throughout the day. If your specification states phenol-free, this is the correct product.

Go With This If…

Your environment specifies phenol-free → this roll. The only phenol-free option in the 57x40mm range.
Standard retail or hospitality → BPA-free 57x40mm.
Phenol-free in a shallower terminal housing → phenol-free 57x35mm.

If you’re in this category, you already know you need phenol-free. This is the correct product for a standard 57x40mm terminal.

57mm x 40mm x 13mm core 58gsm Phenol Free thermal paper rolls (50 Rolls).10+ Year Image Life, End of Roll Warning Stripe,

Yes these rolls are totally phenol free.

Yes these rolls are made from thermal paper

Yes, these 57x40mm credit card rolls are made from 100% phenol-free, BPA-free thermal paper with recyclable paper cores. They're safer for your staff to handle than traditional thermal paper and are an environmentally responsible choice for Irish businesses.

Each pack contains 50 rolls of 57x40mm credit card rolls. That's bulk value for busy Irish retail shops, cafés and bars to keep your PDQ machines and card terminals running without interruption.

Absolutely. Each order contains 3 packs of 50 (150 containers total). For larger volume orders across multiple locations, call us on +353 (0)1 4433964 to discuss trade pricing and scheduled deliveries.

BPA-free removes bisphenol-A from the thermal coating — the EU standard for most retail and hospitality environments. Phenol-free removes all phenol compounds, not just BPA. Required in pharmacy, healthcare, and food-contact environments where stricter chemical compliance applies. If your environment specifies phenol-free, BPA-free alone is not sufficient.

Yes — same dimensions, same fit. 57mm width, 40mm diameter, 12.7mm core. Compatible with Ingenico, Verifone, PAX, Worldpay, AIB, and Bank of Ireland terminals that take a standard 57x40mm roll.

The phenol-free coating process removes a broader range of chemical compounds from the thermal layer, requiring a higher-grade manufacturing process. The result is a safer receipt for high-contact environments and 10-year fade resistance vs 7 years on the BPA-free version. For standard retail and hospitality, the BPA-free 57x40mm at €27.75 is the right choice. For pharmacy, healthcare, or food-contact environments, the phenol-free version is the correct specification.
