Trade-off: they’re not suitable for very liquid-heavy contents like soup — for that, a PE-lined bowl is more appropriate. Yes — the window is made from cellulose acetate, a plant-based bioplastic that is compostable. This is different from standard PET or OPP windows used on most windowed food boxes, which are not compostable. The entire Lunchipak — board and window — can go into industrial composting streams.
