We cut this 9×9×2 inch box specifically for a standard Irish apple tart — not approximately, exactly. Kraft board, clear PET window on the lid, food-grade throughout. The board is firm enough to hold a warm tart without buckling, and the flat base means it sits steady in a bag or on a counter without rocking around. Comes in a case of 50 (two inner packs of 25), which is roughly a week's supply for a busy bakery counter doing daily trade.

If you're boxing standard 9-inch apple tarts or similar round pastries and want a kraft finish with a window — this is it. At €0.74 per box, there's not much to think about.

If the product is going into an opaque display fridge or a bulk delivery run with no retail-facing element, a plain lid box keeps the cost down and works just as well.

One. This is a single-tart box designed for a standard 9-inch Irish apple tart. The 9×9×2 inch internal footprint holds one tart securely without sliding. If you’re looking to box individual slices or mini tarts, the 8×8 size may suit better — give us a call and we’ll confirm.

Flat-packed. They arrive folded flat for compact storage — useful if you’re working with limited shelf space behind a counter. Assembly takes a few seconds: fold up the base, slot the lid with the window, done. No tools, no tape needed for basic use.

You can, but we’d recommend allowing the tart to cool to at least room temperature first. Placing a very hot tart directly into a sealed kraft box traps steam, which can soften the board base and cause condensation on the inside of the PET window — not ideal for presentation. A five-to-ten minute rest on a wire rack makes a noticeable difference to how the box holds up and how the tart looks through the window.

Orders placed before 1pm from our Dublin 12 warehouse typically arrive next working day. No customs complications — we handle regular deliveries across the border without issue.

The boxes we stock here are plain kraft — no printing. For branded or custom-printed bakery boxes with your logo, you’d need a print run with a specialist packaging printer, which typically involves minimum quantities and lead times. That said, plain kraft boxes work well with a custom sticker or label if you want a low-cost branded look without the print run minimum. There’s no minimum order for online purchases — you can order a single case of 50 boxes if that suits your current needs. For trade accounts with 30-day credit terms, the minimum order across your basket is €100 + VAT. Bulk pricing is available for larger volumes — contact us directly to discuss.

Yes, with some care. The flat base and uniform 9×9 footprint means filled boxes stack reasonably well for short trips — market traders and delivery drivers use them this way regularly. For longer journeys or van deliveries, we’d recommend keeping stacks to two or three high and avoiding placing weight directly on the window lid. The base is the strong point; the lid’s window panel is not load-bearing.

The kraft board body is recyclable. The clear window is PET plastic — recyclable separately where PET is accepted. For kerbside recycling in Ireland, remove the window if possible before placing the box in the recycling bin. We don’t make compostability claims for this product as the window element prevents full compostable certification.

The 9×9×2 kraft apple tart box is made from food-grade board and is suitable for direct food contact without lining. For high-moisture products like cream tarts or fruit pies, a parchment liner is worth considering to prevent any softening of the base board during extended display.
