Small Fish & Chip Box – 24.6×15.5×5.3cm | 100 Per Pack | Free Ireland Delivery
Quick Summary: 24.6×15.5×5.3cm · corrugated cardboard · 100 per pack · 24c per box · heat-insulating · grease-resistant · free delivery across Ireland
A fish supper that arrives cold is a different product from one that arrives hot. The corrugated construction is what keeps them apart — the fluted middle layer traps air between the board layers, and that air is what holds the heat from the fryer to the customer's door. A flat cardboard box loses heat faster. A polystyrene tray holds it longer but can't be recycled. The Small corrugated fish and chip box does both jobs: keeps the food hot and goes in the cardboard bin when it's done.

- No plastic lining – Plain corrugated cardboard; 100% recyclable and compostable in commercial composting facilities
- Flat-packed, quick assembly – Fold along the creases and tuck the tabs; assembles in seconds during busy service
- Sturdy under load – Corrugated construction maintains shape under stacked boxes during delivery runs

Why Corrugated Beats Flat Cardboard for Hot Food
The difference between corrugated and flat cardboard isn't visible from the outside — it's in the middle layer. The fluted corrugation creates a series of air pockets between the inner and outer board. Air is a poor conductor of heat, which means those pockets slow the rate at which heat escapes from the food. A flat cardboard box conducts heat directly through the board. A corrugated box has to move heat through board, then air, then board again — and that extra step is what keeps fish and chips hotter for longer.
For delivery orders, that difference is measurable. A single portion that travels ten minutes in a corrugated box arrives noticeably hotter than the same portion in a flat alternative. For eat-on-the-go service, the corrugated construction also means the box doesn't get hot in the customer's hand the way a thin flat box does — the same air layer that insulates the food also insulates the outside of the box.
Dublin and Cork chippers and fish and chip shops use the Small as their single-portion and kids' meal format — the box that gives a single serving the same quality of packaging as the adult portion. Galway and Limerick fish and chip shops and mobile food vans use it for single portions and snack boxes at markets and festivals where a compact, grease-resistant box suits eat-on-the-go service. Food trucks and street food operators in Belfast and Derry use it as their standard single-serving format. Cafés and catering operations across Sligo, Donegal, and Cavan use it for individual fish and chip portions at lunch service and events.
Small vs Large Fish & Chip Box
The Small (24.6×15.5×5.3cm) is the single-portion format. The Large (31×15.3×5.2cm) is 6.4cm longer and suits generous portions, family servings, and loaded meals where the Small is too compact for the food. Most Irish chippers stock both — the Small for single and kids' portions, the Large for the standard adult serving. Both are 100 per pack at a similar price point; the decision is purely about portion size.
