Ingenico Paper Rolls: Which Roll Does Your Ingenico Take?
The DiscountTillRolls.ie TeamAlmost every Ingenico card machine in Ireland takes a 57x40mm thermal roll. That covers the portable iWL range, the countertop iCT range, the Move 2500, 3500 and 5000, the Desk 3000 and 3500, the Axium DX8000 and the APOS A8. The roll is 57mm wide and 40mm across, printed on thermal paper, so there is no ink or ribbon to buy.
If your bank or payment provider gave you the terminal, it is still an Ingenico underneath, and the same roll fits. Here is the full list, model by model.

Thermal card machine rolls for the iWL, iCT, Move and Desk ranges.
How do I check the size myself?
- Look at the model name. It is usually printed on the front or on a sticker underneath the terminal.
- Measure the old roll. The width across the paper and the diameter of a full roll give you the size, so 57mm wide and 40mm across is 57x40mm.
- Do the fingernail test. Scratch the paper quickly. A dark mark means thermal paper, which is what every Ingenico terminal uses. Our thermal vs bond guide explains more.
Does my payment provider matter?
No. Elavon, Worldpay, Payzone, AIB Merchant Services and others all hand out Ingenico terminals, and the roll size follows the machine, not the provider. We also list rolls under provider names, like Payzone iWL220 rolls and Worldpay iCT250 rolls, but they are the same 57x40mm roll. For other brands, see what roll does my card machine take.
Tips for Ingenico rolls
- Shiny side faces the print head. If receipts come out blank, the roll is usually in backwards. Our step by step loading guide shows how.
- Watch for the coloured end stripe. It warns you the roll is nearly finished.
- Want to avoid phenols and BPA? Try phenol-free 57x40mm rolls.
- Buy by the box. A box of 50 lasts a typical cafe a few months. The monthly usage guide helps you work it out.
Also fits the Move 2500 and Move 3500.
Frequently asked questions
What size paper roll does an Ingenico card machine take?
Nearly all current Ingenico terminals take a 57x40mm thermal roll, including the iWL, iCT, Move, Desk and Axium ranges.
Do the iWL220 and iWL250 take the same roll?
Yes. Both take a 57x40mm thermal roll.
Do Ingenico terminals need ink?
No. They print on thermal paper using heat, so there is no ink or ribbon.
Can I use a 57x35mm roll in an Ingenico?
It will usually fit because it is smaller, but it runs out sooner. A 57x40mm roll gives you more receipts per roll.
