A lot of cash registers, small tills and receipt printers take 57mm paper, and so do most card machines. The width is the easy bit. It's the second number, the diameter of the roll, that decides whether it actually fits. Get that wrong and the lid won't close, or you end up changing rolls twice as often as you need to.

Which 57mm roll do I need?

All prices are per box, ex VAT, with free delivery across Ireland. The per-roll figure is just the box price divided by the number of rolls.

Some registers will take either a 57x70 or a 57x55. If there's room, the 57x70 holds more paper, so you're changing it less often. Easiest way to check is to look at the roll in your machine now, or just ring us on 01 443 3964 with the make and model. To be honest, that's usually quickest.

How to measure a 57mm roll

Roll sizes are written as width x diameter in millimetres. Measure across the paper for the width, then across the whole roll for the diameter. So a 57x70 roll is 57mm wide and 70mm across.

Thermal or bond paper?

If your till or printer uses an ink ribbon, it doesn't take thermal paper. Some older cash registers work that way and need bond paper till rolls instead. Quick test for a roll you already have: scratch it with your fingernail. Thermal paper leaves a dark mark. Bond paper doesn't.

What size till roll does my cash register take?

A lot of cash registers and small receipt printers take 57mm paper, usually 57x70mm or 57x55mm. Check the roll that's in it now, or ring 01 443 3964 with the make and model and we'll tell you.

What's the difference between 57x70 and 57x55 till rolls?

Both are 57mm wide. The 57x70 is a bigger roll with more paper on it, so it needs changing less often, but your till needs room for it. The 57x55 suits machines with a smaller paper compartment.

How much do 57mm till rolls cost?

Our 57x70mm rolls are €35.99 + VAT for a box of 40, about 90c a roll. 57x55mm rolls are €30.99 + VAT for a box of 40, about 77c a roll. Delivery is free across Ireland.

Does my till need thermal or bond paper?

If it uses an ink ribbon, it needs bond paper. If not, it's almost certainly thermal. Scratch an old receipt with your fingernail: a dark mark means thermal.

Are 57mm till rolls the same as card machine rolls?

What does coreless mean?

A coreless roll has no cardboard tube in the middle, so there's nothing left over to throw away when the roll runs out.

Are your 57mm rolls BPA-free?

Yes, all our thermal rolls are BPA-free. Phenol-free rolls are available as a separate range.

Orders placed before 1pm Monday to Friday ship at 2pm the same day, and usually arrive the next working day. Delivery is free across Ireland.
