How to Maintain Professional Standards With Disposable Table Linens
Last Updated: November 2, 2026
What does a professional standard look like with disposable table linens?
Every table looks the same: cover square, no creases, no marks, an even drop on all sides and the napkin in the same spot at every place. Guests notice one stained or crooked cover faster than twenty good ones. Disposable covers make this easier than cloth, because a fresh one goes down every time and nothing comes back from the laundry grey.
We're DiscountTillRolls.ie, an Irish supplier based in Dublin 12 since 2007. We supply disposable table covers, napkins and cleaning products to hotels, caterers, restaurants and event venues around Ireland. Here's how to keep them looking right, sitting after sitting.
Which disposable table cover should I use?
For hotels, weddings, banquets and outside catering, a white slipcover gives a clean, formal finish with no laundry. Ours are 90cm x 90cm, made from polythene film bonded to soft white paper, so the underside has some moisture resistance. Keep one size and one colour across the room so every table matches.

Measure your table tops before you order and decide how much drop you want. Not sure 90cm x 90cm suits your tables? Ring us on 01 443 3964 and we'll talk it through.
Choosing napkins? Our napkins guide covers sizes, ply and fold for every type of venue, and the full range is in napkins.
How do you lay a disposable table cover neatly?
Lay it on a clean, dry table, line it up square and smooth it from the centre out. Then check the drop and set the table on top of it.
- Wipe the table and let it dry. A damp table shows through and makes the cover cling.
- Open the cover fully before it touches the table, so fold lines don't drag.
- Line it up square with the table edge.
- Smooth it from the centre outwards with flat hands.
- Walk round the table and check the drop is even on every side.
- Set cutlery, glasses and napkins last.

How often should you change disposable table covers?
Change the cover after every sitting, and straight away if it's wet, torn or marked. Don't wipe a used disposable cover and leave it down. It won't look fresh and guests can tell.
Between sittings, clear the table, take up the old cover, wipe the bare surface, let it dry, then lay a fresh one. For the wipe, a spray-and-wipe bactericidal cleaner like our Selden T001 hard surface cleaner (6 x 750ml, €22.99 + VAT) suits hard, non-porous tables. Always follow the label. For the full cleaning routine, see our commercial kitchen cleaning chemicals guide.
Keep a few spare covers near the floor, so a spilled glass means a quick swap, not a trip to the store room mid-service.
How should you store disposable table covers?
Flat, dry, sealed and off the floor. Keep packs in their box until you need them, away from sunlight, heat and damp, and use the oldest stock first. A creased or marked cover can't be fixed once it's on the table.
Our slipcovers come as 4 boxes of 25 in each case, so you can open one box at a time and keep the rest sealed.
What should you check before every service?
Run this check on every table before doors open.
- Table wiped and dry under the cover
- Cover square and smooth, drop even on every side
- No marks, tears or creases
- Napkins folded the same way and in the same spot at every place
- Spare covers and napkins within reach of the floor team
- Enough stock for the next service, not just this one
How many disposable table covers do you need?
Count your tables, multiply by sittings per day and by days between orders, then add a few spare for spills. For example, 20 tables x 2 sittings x 5 days is 200 covers, so two cases plus a spare box of 25.
Order before 1pm and it's shipped at 2pm the same day from Dublin 12. You can also call and collect from Unit 4, Naas Road Ind. Park, Dublin 12. For hotel or venue volumes, ring us on 01 443 3964 and you'll get a real person.
Next step: order 90cm x 90cm white table slipcovers, or browse cutlery, napkins and tabletop. Running an outdoor event? See our festival and event disposables checklist.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you keep disposable table covers looking neat during service?
Lay each cover on a clean, dry table, smooth it from the centre outwards and check the drop is even on every side. Change it straight away if it gets wet, torn or marked, and keep spare covers near the floor so a spill is a quick swap.
How often should disposable table linens be changed?
After every sitting, and immediately if a cover is wet, torn or marked. Take up the old cover, wipe the bare table, let it dry and lay a fresh one. Don't wipe a used disposable cover and leave it down.
How much does a disposable table slipcover cost?
Our 90cm x 90cm white disposable table slipcovers are €85.99 + VAT for a case of 100, packed as 4 boxes of 25. That works out at about 86c a cover + VAT.
Are disposable table covers good enough for weddings and hotels?
Yes, for most functions. A white slipcover gives a clean, matching finish with no laundry, which suits back-to-back events. Pair it with 40cm airlaid napkins for a feel close to cloth.
How fast can I get disposable table covers in Ireland?
Order before 1pm and it's shipped at 2pm the same day from our Dublin 12 warehouse. You can also call and collect from Unit 4, Naas Road Ind. Park, Dublin 12, or ring us on 01 443 3964.
