Clover Roll Sizes: Flex, Mini, Mobile and Station

Clover devices do not all take the same roll. The Clover Flex and Clover Mobile handhelds take 57mm rolls. The Clover Mini takes a 57x45mm roll. The Clover Station takes a much wider 80x70mm roll, the same size as a standard receipt printer. All of them are thermal, so there is no ink or ribbon.

Which roll does each Clover device take?

The Flex and Mobile rolls are both 57mm wide, but they are sized to each device's paper compartment, so order the one named for your device. Our Clover Flex rolls also fit the Flex 3, and our Mini rolls fit the Mini 3.

What roll does the Clover Flex take?

The Clover Flex takes a 57mm thermal roll. It is a popular handheld for paying at the table, so it goes through paper quickly on a busy night. Keep a few rolls in the service station, not just in the office.

Loading it is the same as most handhelds: open the paper door, drop the roll in so the paper feeds from underneath, pull a little paper out and close the door. If it prints blank, the roll is the wrong way round. See how to put a roll in a card machine.

Which Clover Station roll should I buy, 58gsm or 65gsm?

Both are 80x70mm and both fit the Clover Station, Station Pro and Station Solo. The difference is paper weight.

• 58gsm is the everyday option. Good value, fine for most counters.
• 65gsm is heavier. It feels more substantial, tears more cleanly and suits a busy counter where receipts are handed over all day.

Can I use one roll for all my Clover devices?

No. A Station roll is 80mm wide and will not go into a Flex, Mini or Mobile. The handheld and Mini rolls are 57mm wide but sized differently. If you run a Station at the counter and Flex units on the floor, you need two boxes: one of 80x70mm and one of the 57mm Flex rolls.

The upside is that an 80x70mm Clover Station roll is the same size as most receipt printer rolls, so the box also covers any Epson or Star printer you have. See the Epson, Star and Citizen roll guide.

How do I know which Clover device I have?

• Clover Station is the large touchscreen POS with a separate printer. Easy to spot.
• Clover Mini is a compact countertop unit with a screen and a built-in printer.
• Clover Flex is a handheld with a screen, card slot and built-in printer.
• Clover Mobile is a handheld as well. If you are unsure whether you have a Flex or a Mobile, check the label on the back or your provider's paperwork.
